Continuing Education has been identified as one of the cornerstones of the NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.  We are committed to providing all our members with the opportunity to access the highest quality continuing dental education courses in the field of cosmetic dentistry possible.

Since our inauguration over 3 years ago, the NZACD has developed a reputation for bringing world class speakers to NZ.  In addition to our own programmes, we are delighted to support some of our Corporate Members in their own initiatives to host educational events.

In 2005 we hosted a major event for dentistry in NZ with our Inaugural Scientific Symposium, We assembled a truly world-class line up of speakers and all attendees gave rave reviews about the programme. It was a packed house and the topics were highly relevant in the global Cosmetic Dental scene.  It was a pleasure to be able to bring this quality of dental education to our country.  It was most certainly the highlight of the 2005 CDE calendar.

In June 2007, the NZACD hosted its 2nd Biennial Scientific Symposium, "Vertical Challenges - Integrating Beauty & Function".  Building on the success of our Inaugural Scientific Symposium, a bold move to host a number of hands-on workshops in addition to a comprehensive lecture programme gave dentistry in NZ a chance to access another world class programme.  There were many groundbreaking aspects to the programme including multiple hands-on workshops, a cocktail evening in the most breath-taking venue in the country, a Mini Drive Day at Pukekohe Park Raceway and a large Cosmetic Dental Industry Exhibition. 

Our 3rd Biennial Symposium "Bridging The Gap" was held on 18 & 19 June this year.  This two day Symposium was  held at the Crowne Plaza in Auckland in conjunction with the Dental Expo at ASB Showgrounds where both associations combined for the Cocktail Party and Masquerade Ball.  

Also, the NZACD is determined to encourage and facilitate regular peer-ro-peer contact amongst cosmetic dental professionals.  This has been achieved by putting in place the framework for regular, local, regional study groups.
