GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OF THE NZ ACADEMY OF COSMETIC DENTISTRY HAS ITS PRIVILEGES.

Study Groups/Mentoring
Local study groups will be encouraged. The NZACD executive can help arrange and
facilitate the organisation and running of these groups. We are available to provide a
mentoring role to assist the operation of these groups. Such groups are currently being setup in Auckland, Waikato/BOP, Wellington, Christchurch & Dunedin. Click here for more information.

Networking
We will have open dialogue between study groups throughout New Zealand.
Our members will also have access to international support (via the AACD, BACD, ESED &
IFED). Our international affiliations and alliances mean we have contacts with over 6000
other motivated dentists with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry in 57 countries
worldwide.

Multimedia Library
The NZACD is sourcing a collection of Cosmetic Dental related educational material
available for hire.  We are currently able to hire out individual DVDs from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry's Scientific Sessions in Nashville, 2005.

Continuing Education Program
Continuing education & professional development is a core principle in achieving the
goals of the NZACD. The NZACD aims to provide regular courses and lectures on a
wide range of topics related to Cosmetic Dentistry. We also will work in partnership with our Corporate Members to the mutual benefit of our members in this regard.  The annual membership to belong to the NZACD pays itself off many times over just by attending continuing education programmes (at discounted rates) hosted by the NZACD and its partners.  The NZACD has developed a reputation for enticing the highest calibre speakers available througout the world to our country and hosting the high quality multimedia experiences to make learning entertaining and rewarding.

International Conference/Symposium
We aim to bring international speakers here for a multi-day programme on a biennial
basis. The Inaugural Scientific Symposium was held in Auckland, New Zealand in October 2005 and was an unequivocal success. Our Symposium in 2007 was equally a success hosting multiple hands-on workshops in addition to an excellent scientific program.  The next Symposium is scheduled for mid-2009.  Please check this website from time to time to check for new news.

Accreditation Process
Accreditation will set the bar for those dentists wanting to seek self improvement in the
field of Cosmetic Dentistry.  This part of the Academy is still under development.

Business Partners
Members will receive benefits from time to time through our association with various
companies.  A prime example to this is our partnership with the local distributor to provide Nikon camera hardware.

eNewsletter & Website
The eNewsletter will keep members informed with up-to-date knowledge of events, courses and developments in Cosmetic Dentistry.
The website contains both public and member sections. The public section will serve to
promote cosmetic dentistry.  The member section accessible via the login box on the left of the screen contains information appropriate to our members only.

Public & Professional Resources
Patient pamphlets on cosmetic dental procedures will be developed and available for purchase to
NZACD members only.

Consumer Affairs Support
From time to time members will need advice in dealing with complaints. We have
members of the Academy who have served on Peer Review boards and as Complaints
Officers. These people are available to offer timely guidance to help minimise the
consequences of complaints.

Business Models For Success
The NZACD will provide courses and seminars on the business side of dentistry.

Marketing
The NZACD aims to promote Cosmetic Dentistry to the public throughout New Zealand.
Members will be promoted via this website and through the media whenever opportunity
arises.

Last, but not least, we will provide our members with a membership certificate and window sticker to be displayed to show your patients your committment to excellence in the field of Cosmetic Dentistry.
