SYMPOSIUM 2009

NZ ACADEMY OF COSMETIC DENTISTRY

3RD BIENNIAL SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM 2009

Bridging the Gap

18, 19 June 2009  - Crowne Plaza Auckland

Our 3rd Biennial Symposium, “Bridging The Gap”, brings two renowned international speakers who live in the realm of possibilities and creativity and who are instrumental in creating change in our lives. Their contribution will help to close our knowledge and experience gap, challenge our beliefs and provide us with the confidence to practice with less stress and better teamwork in challenging times. Cosmetic dentistry is not just confined to front teeth. The demand for durable tooth coloured posterior alternatives to amalgam confronts us daily. These consumer demands create a need for new skills and understanding. The digital age has embraced dentistry and we move rapidly toward automated, computerised design and manufacture and away from traditional techniques of construction. An awareness of materials, the technology available in their manufacture, and the clinical techniques required in their delivery will be critical to the delivery of future care.

Lectures

Lee Culp CDT, our clinical speaker, leads the world in his involvement in the delivery of digital ceramics.  Lee’s involvement in the development of new ceramic materials, his contribution to CAD design and his conceptual understanding of the relationship between form and function makes him one of the leading specialist speakers on ceramics today.

We are privileged to have Sandy Roth speak in New Zealand for the first time. Sandy is recognized internationally as one of the most powerful and insightful consultants in the dental industry. Her perception and understanding of human behaviour will be invaluable as she discusses the ability to counteract recession and manage teams through challenging times. Her direct communication style and practical message will challenge traditional concepts of organisational development.

The Academy is proud of our relationship with speakers of such depth and knowledge. In selecting our speakers we recognise the importance of cohesion between all members of the dental team – dentist, ceramist and auxiliary staff. The strength of our relationship with the dental industry, and our recognition of their role in bringing the best technology and materials to New Zealand, is reflected in our decision to hold our meeting in conjunction with the Industry Expo.

Join us on Wednesday 17 June at our Opening Comedy Night and the following two stimulating days of lectures.

Cosmetic Dental Industry Expo:

NZ's leading dental companies will have their foremost cosmetic dental products on show.  Support our industry colleagues by attending the Expo at Auckland ASB Showgrounds and our joins social functions.

Continuing education credits: Conference attendees will be eligible to obtain continuing education credits for their participation in the 3rd Biennial NZACD Scientific Symposium.

Again the NZACD is setting the standard and raising the bar for Continuing Dental Education in New Zealand.
